frequently asked questions
What should I expect in my first session?
+ You will be greeted by your trainer, checked in to your session, and introduced to the other members. The session will start with a 5-10 minute warm up, followed by a demonstration of the workout. You will always be shown the exercises, proper form, and duration of the workout. Once the workout is complete, you will cool down for 5-10 minutes, followed by a feeling of satisfaction for completing a challenging workout.
I have/had an injury, can I participate in group training?
+ If you are cleared by your doctor to perform strength, endurance and conditioning work and feel comfortable training, communicate your injury to your trainer so you can be provided a modification as necessary.
How many participants are in each session?
+ ELITE limits sessions to up to 15 participants to allow for proper attention and safety for all participants.
How do I sign up for a session?
+ Once you become a member with ELITE, you will be given access to our scheduling app so you can select and attend the sessions that work best for you. It is recommended that you schedule a few days in advance to avoid getting closed out of a session or wait listed.
What kind of class is best for weight loss? Muscle gain?
+ Any session will be good for weight loss or muscle gain as long you are following a proper nutritional program.
Do you offer nutritional guidance or meal planning?
+ While we can provide nutritional guidance and general meal planning advice, we work with a registered dietitian to ensure you are being prescribed a proper meal plan.
Where do you train?
+ All training takes place at the Sportsplex at Metuchen, 215 Durham Ave. Metuchen, NJ.
Will I be doing the same work out every week?
+ Absolutely not. Each workout changes depending on the training schedule (see the page "Training Schedule"). You may perform some of the same exercises from session to session, but it is meant to build onto the progress you have already made.
Are trainers going to be yelling at me during the session?
+ Trainers will not yell at participants, however, you will receive motivating cues, corrections to ensure proper form is being executed, and inspiration for when the work gets challenging.
What type of equipment will we use to train?
+ ELITE training is not the same setting as traditional gym training. Trainers use ropes, sleds, tires, slam balls, dumbbells, kettle bells, bands and other equipment to train. This keeps your training, fun, functional and progressive.
